Welcome to Dunadd Farm - a small, working livestock farm situated at the
foot of Dunadd Fort on the banks of the River Add in the historic
Kilmartin Glen.
Comgall and Gabran are warm, comfortable, well appointed holiday
cottages, sleeping 2-4 people. They offer an ideal base to relax or
explore this beautiful area by foot or by car.
The
recently established Dalriada path network runs through Dunadd Farm,
linking Kilmartin Glen with the Crinan Canal and Lochgilphead.
The farm borders the Moine Mhor Nature Reserve, a 'raised bog' managed
by Scottish Natural Heritage.
Our
surrounding area is rich in wild life. Deer are regularly seen on the
farm. A large population of Brown Hare criss cross our fields and
frequently graze the garden around the cottages. Hen Harriers can be
spotted quartering the fields that border the Moine Mhor.
Dunadd Fort is a nationally important historic site having been the
original capital of the Scottish Kingdom. The short 10 minute walk to
the top of the Fort offers wonderful views and a chance to place your
foot in the foot print believed to have been used in the coronation of
the early Kings of Scotland. |

tastefully restored to reflect it's Victorian history with many of the
original Victorian features. The gardens are over an acre in size with a

most unusual in the area - due to the gardens being a nature trail in
times gone by. The upper garden hosts what was the tennis courts, and
still provides for an excellent game of tennis or cricket. Ideal for

The Old Smiddy
was built in 1862 and was used as a blacksmiths shop until the middle of
the 1900's. There is a lot of history surrounding the place itself which
enjoys modern features as well as reminders of years gone by. The Old
Smiddy cottage is built over Ballagan burn where there used to be the
Old Smiddy workshop where there was a trap door and the cart wheels were
fired up and dropped down through this door to cool down - Until
recently the Old Smiddy cottage was used as a very successful B&B and
therefore has all the requirements requested by the Tourist
Board. Private parking is available and can easily accommodate a car and
boat if required. There is also a patio for guest use. The Old Smiddy
cottage is attached on to the main dwelling but is completely separate
in every other way
Located within

former blacksmiths cottage offers a very comfortable, well appointed and
