Campsites in the Lake District & Cumbria Region

Fisherground Campsite is set right in the heart of Eskdale, one of Cumbria's loveliest valleys. Here on the West side of the Lake District we get less rain and more sun than our famous cousins the other side of Scafell. In this quiet valley there is still the Peace and Tranquillity that should be Lakeland - but rarely is in the bustling centres. Here there are still more sheep than people.

Peace is the watchword on the Campsite too. We are a quiet family site and every effort is made to ensure silence after 10.30pm. As we don't take bookings, except for the electric hook ups, we look forward to welcoming you when you arrive

These days, New Ing Lodge offers comfort and luxury with a modern style in the Lake District National Park at an affordable price. We believe that a stay in the English Lake District should offer tranquillity and serenity in a beautiful environment.

We are easily accessible to the East Lakes – the Eden Valley, Hawes Water, Ullswater, High Street, Askham Fell, as well as the less-visited Howgill fells and the west Pennines. It is a short 15 minute drive to Penrith, and 25 minutes to Kendal. Other areas of the National Park are accessible with a short drive also.

We offer a range of activities from our Lodge. We provide maps and details for walkers (and even a guide if you want it), mountain bikes for hire (with a special rate for residents), and an orienteering course outside our back door. We also can arrange kayaking, climbing and wilderness camping and bushcraft skills courses if you want.

There is so much to do at New Ing it is ideal for a family break. As a Head of Sport at several schools, the owner offers activities for teenagers and younger children, which may or may not be accompanied by parents. We provide an excellent breakfast – good healthy porridge, with an option of a full English breakfast, a vegetarian breakfast, or a continental style. We also do evening meals and packed lunches by request

We also offer bunk accommodation @ £12.50 per person, 12 bunk beds in 2 dormitory rooms. Breakfast is available at an additional charge.
