Sandbed is a four
star visit England Cottage, it is a delightful mix of old and new, with
exposed beams, stone work and flagged floor, the furniture has been
carefully handpicked to provide charm and character along with all
modern conveniences.
The downstairs
living area is open plan with a contemporary modern fire, digital TV,
DVD and a fully equipped kitchen. The upstairs is reached by a handmade
oak staircase onto a gallery sitting area from which there are 2 good
sized bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with 2 single beds. There
is also a spacious shower room with WC, basin and large quadrant shower
cubicle.
Sandbed Cottage
nestles at the foot of the slopes of Harter Fell part of the spectacular
Howgills, with the stunning limestone pavements of Fellend Clouds just a
short walk away.
These little known
hills and fells are gazed by Swaledale sheep and wild fell ponies, with
Buzzards soaring over head and the call of the curlew carried on the
breeze.
Sandbed Cottage is
ideal for a good strenuous walk or horse/bike ride up breathtaking Wild
Boar Fell or a gentler meander along the valley bottom whichever you
choose the scenery is breathtaking! |

Welcome to the
delightful unspoilt Eden Valley in Cumbria, an area of outstanding
natural beauty and tranquility within easy reach of the Lake District,
the Yorkshire Dales and the North Pennines.
Situated within the
Cumbrian Village of Kirkby Thore is Holme Lea, a modern detached
bungalow standing in its own enclosed garden offering self-catering
holiday accommodation sleeping up to four adults. The accommodation is
all on one level, making it ideal for those who have difficulty with
stairs & there is an open coal fire for comfort on cooler days. There is
a garage / store and off street parking for two cars. The garden is
enclosed and is suitable for well behaved dogs
The village of Kirkby
Thore is relatively undisturbed by tourist pressures, yet is just 25
minutes drive from Ullswater in the Lake District, and a little further
to all the other Lake District attractions The shop/Post Office (hot
snacks) is 40yds away. Fast food outlets in Appleby will deliver to the
village & there are attractive pubs nearby
For walkers and
cyclists there are many enjoyable routes close to the village, and for
gardeners a trip to the nearby National Trust property Acorn Bank is a
must!
Just four miles away
is the delightful market town of Appleby in Westmorland, famous for its
traditional horse fair held annually in June. Beyond Appleby is Kirkby
Stephen and the high Yorkshire Dales. The historic City of Carlisle with
its Cathedral, Castle and shopping centre is about half an hour's drive
away, and Hadrian's Wall Country is closeby. Appleby is a good place to
join the Settle and Carlisle Railway for the picturesque journey to
Settle and back.
Or you can take a
leisurely drive over the Hartside Pass from Penrith to Hexham, which is
designated as one of the most beautiful routes in Europe |

Broad Ing Cottage is
part of a barn conversion of five properties in a courtyard setting on
the fringe of the village of Tirril, which nestles on the edge of the
Lake District National Park. The cottage is deceptively spacious and is
equipped to a very high standard. All the rooms are on one level and
overlook the pleasant rear garden and open fields. Being very private
and peaceful it is a perfect location for relaxing
Ullswater Lake with
its spectacular views is two miles away from the cottage, making it
ideally situated for walking and sailing.
The market town of
Penrith is three miles away, and the village of Pooley Bridge is just
two miles.Tirril boasts a traditional village pub - The Queens Head Inn
- which has a welcoming log fire and a friendly and relaxing atmosphere.
It serves both bar and restaurant food and is a ten minute stroll from

Originally two cottages built over 100 years
ago, the first cottage was built in the late 1600s and is one of the
oldest properties in the Village of Seaton.
The village of Seaton nestles between the towns
of Workington and Cockermouth. Seaton is an old village with easy
access to the picturesque coastal plains of the Solway Firth with
its stunning views towards the Scottish mountains, and fells of the
Lake District. Derwentwater, Bassenthwaite Lake, Crummock Water,
Buttermere and Loweswater are all a short drive away
The cottages have been lovingly renovated to a very
high standard, retaining many of the original features. A stone
staircase, oak beams, a large walk-in inglenook fireplace, wooden and
stone floors fill the cottage with old world charm.

We
offer three self-contained, holiday cottages newly created within a
converted barn which have all been furbished to a very high standard,
rated visit Britain 4****. The cottages are all no smoking and are
maintained by the owners who live in the attached farmhouse.
The cottages are based on our family run working poultry farm within the
Lake District National Park, up a private lane set in 200 acres of land,
all having outstanding views of the surrounding hills and open
countryside and our own beautiful Tarn with 12 man birdwatching hide on
their doorstep.
Our three cottages sleep up to 6, 4 & 2
respectively and can be rented individually or as a group.
All
cottages have been furnished to a very high standard and have everything
you should need during your stay. There is a communal laundry room with
a washing machine, tumble dryer, internet access, payphone and local
tourist information leaflets.
There is ample free parking outside the cottages. Rental price includes
all power, central heating, unlimited hot water, towels and linen. There
is a large patio area with seating and BBQ, a fully enclosed Children’s
play area with a large play activity tower. Pets & families with
children are both very, we can supply all Baby and toddler essentials
ready to use in your cottage upon request. Walkers and Cyclists also
very welcome with secure bike lock-up available. |

Restmoor cottage is a
spacious three bedroom cottage, situated in the delightful village of
Middleton.
The numerous village
shops include cafes, restaurants, pubs, post office and a small
supermarket. The Pennine way passes through the village. The local
attractions include walks through the surrounding area of outstanding
natural beauty, the spectacular waterfalls of High Force, Low Force and
Couldron Snout. Raby Castle, the historic market town of Barnard Castle
