Les
Places is a traditional alpine farmhouse which was constructed
in 1828 and recently extensively restored to a high standard. It
offers flexible, spacious and comfortable self catering
accommodation and can be rented in a range of combinations
including two large self contained apartments
The house
is situated on the edge of the village of Bonnevaux in a quiet
location served by a private road leading off the main village
through road before it climbs up the Col de Corbier. Bonnevaux
is situated just off the main Thonon, Evian (Lake Geneva) to
Chatel road. It is 22 km from Thonon (30 minutes).
The house
has extensive mountain views and a large front garden (fenced to
gate and driveway) and large pasture at the rear of the house.
There is ample off road parking. The garden at the house is
ideal for sunbathing and for children, barbeque equipment is
provided in the cave.
The
nearest large village for shopping is Abondance & is just 5 to 10 mins
away and has banks, ski and bike hire, post office, restaurants and bars
& tourist information office etc.
In summer, the
house is ideally located for a variety of holiday activities. There are
beautiful walks from the house and extensive graded walks at all levels
in the vicinity. There is also river rafting and canoeing, mountain bike
trails, road bike routes taken by the Tour de France, tennis, golf, hang
gliding, horse riding etc. The ski lifts in the Portes du Soleil are
converted to carry mountain bikes. The Col de Corbier has
internationally renowned climbing available.

Chalet Babar is
set just above the centre of the pretty and traditional alpine village
of Les Gets, just one hours drive from Geneva airport or around 8 hours
drive from Calais.
The chalet was
built in 2000 on 3 floors and sleeps up to 10 people having 2
double/twin bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms + 2 further twin/double
bedrooms, bunk bedroom and 2 shower rooms.
Large south
facing Balcony/terrace with wonderful views over the village.
The chalet is just a 2
minute walk from the lake for swimming and just a 5 minute walk across
the meadow from the village centre, there is also a free 'land train'
which runs every half hour (except lunch time) up and down to the
village centre during the summer season.

invite you to enjoy the beauty of Nans Sous Ste. Anne and the Franche-Comte,
which we have come to love.
Our house was built in the 18th Century by the chatelain of neighboring
Chateau Mirabeau (16th century). Full of art and books, the house has
four bedrooms, living room with fireplace, library, TV (satellite) room,
dining room, games room, back garden and front courtyard all for you to
enjoy. We have our own separate apartment in another part of the house
allowing us to be discreetly nearby if needed. The Franche-Comte is
bordered by Alsace to the North, the Rhone-Alpes to the South, Burgundy
to the West and Switzerland to the East. It is a region that boasts a
rich culture and spectacular scenery, from rugged mountains to rolling
farmland and vineyards. Our village of Nans Sous Ste. Anne, in the
department of the Doubs, is set in a wooded landscape cut by deep gorges
near a dramatic tributary of the Lison River. As described in "Village
France" by the AA, "---its location is unique: surrounded by the sources
of five rivers, running along their valleys, these create a giant star
formation of cliffs with Nans in the middle". |
