Skopelos is officially Greece’s greenest
island, and the charming unspoiled village of Glossa is its jewel. An
old-fashioned Greek hillside village where the roads are made for
donkeys and the old cobbled donkey tracks, the ‘kalderimis’, criss-cross
the wooded countryside.
These old tracks and some quiet rural
roads form the basis of our self-guided walks. Whether you want a 5-hour
trek to the top of Mount Delphi, or a one-hour walk to the pretty little
beach of Perivoliou, our free picture maps give you confidence that you
are on the right track! Here you can catch a glimpse of our exotic
migrant birds such as hoopoes and bee-eaters and enjoy the astonishing
variety of native wild flowers.
Our self-catering accommodation is very
popular for traditional Greek island summer holidays, but if you like
walking in Spring and Autumn you can stay in a warm, clean comfortable
cottage, with stunning views over the sparkling Aegean and explore the
island at your leisure.
