Sea Breezes
Self-Catering, run by Donald & Mary Flora Macleod, is situated in
Bruernish, a small crofting and fishing village on the beautiful
Hebridean Island of Barra.
Sea Breezes
comprises of two separate self-catering apartments. Number 1 is a 3
bedroom house sleeping 6 persons while Number 2 (this one) is a
1-bedroom flat which sleeps 2. Both the house and flat have a
superb view overlooking to the front, the enchanting Loch na h-Obe and
its surrounding hills and from the back there are panoramic views of
Bagh Hirivagh, where the fishing boats can be seen leaving and returning
from their work, as well as Eoligarry in the distance, and the lovely
islands of Eriskay and Uist.
Sea Breezes is
about half a mile from Heathbank Hotel which serves meals during the
summer.
The public bus
service passes the house at various times daily – except Sundays giving
easy access to all parts of the island. Wildlife trips can be arranged
to uninhabited islands around Barra including Pabbay, Mingulay and Barra
Head. Sea angling trips can also be arranged.
Both apartments are
modern, well furnished and nicely decorated with ample linen provided,
including towels. Central heating is provided throughout the house and
flat, also there is an electric fire in both. There is a walled patio
area all around the house, with garden furniture and built- in barbecue,
ideal for sitting out in the summer and to the rear there is ample space
for children to play as well as washing lines. There is parking area at

Fairways View Lodges

Fairways View Lodges are two newly built houses at the foot of the
Harris golf course and Scarista beach only meters away. They are both
very spacious with an open plan living area with vast windows to the
front of the buildings. Each lodge has a mezzanine gallery looking out
over the beach, golf course and beautiful island of Taransay.
There are three bedrooms per lodge; one king and two either superking
or four single beds. All bedrooms are en-suite shower and one with a
bath. The lodge’s kitchens are fully equipped with a separate utility
room
Both lodges are very
spacious with open plan living area with panoramic views out to sea.
Each lodge also includes a TV in sitting room and bedrooms, Under floor
heating, Wood burner stove – logs provided,

The site offers
pitches for 6 caravans, with hook ups, along with space for tents. The
site is equipped with a walk in wet room with shower suitable for
disabled access and toilet. There is a laundry with washing machine,
tumble dryer, drying facilities, iron, ironing board as well as a
kitchen area with microwave, kettle, toaster and sink. This includes an
indoor dining area.
The site commands
beautiful views over the Minch and is a 10 minute drive from the

This recently modernised
house is located in the village of Lochboisdale, South Uist.
This island is renowned for its abundance of freshwater
lochs and fine fishing; for bird-watching, shooting,
hill-walking, and also golfing.
The golf course, in nearby
Askernish, has been confirmed as being originally planned by
Tom Morris. Plans are being considered to re-instate it to its former
glory.
The island has a rich
heritage of Gaelic culture and every year, the musical
festival Ceolas takes place in early July, which attracts an
influx of visitors who wish to sample a little of the
language and the musical heritage, which pervades the island
way of life.

You are 'On The
Edge of Europe - On The Edge of The World'.
This area has
many designated protected fauna, flora, birds and an abundance of
walking opportunities for the seasoned walker or the novice. The
Peatlands and surrounding machair and sea walks offer breathtaking
sights and life. The sunrises and sunsets are spellbinding and you have
both from your accommodation. You can take long or short walks with
guides or without guides. Our local Ranger offers guided walks. You can
follow the guided walkway trails which cater for all abilities or walk
the famous Ness to Tolsta moorland walk in part or all of it.
And it is all a
stones through from your accommodation. From here too you can walk to
the sheiling settlement of days of old. Some of the sheilings are still
in use today.!
There are 4
magnificent beaches near to your accommodation and the Port of Ness
lighthouse where the famous Lewisian Gneiss can be found is another good
walk from the accommodation. The peatlands and Hebridean moorland come
alive in spring and transforms into a wonderland of life and colour
throughout summer and autumn as winter brings the opportunity to witness
the crashing of the waves and the crispness of the starry nights and
snow filled days.
There are
binoculars available within the accommodation and we have an adjacent
summerhouse for wet clothes and boots. A tumble drier and outside
washing line is also available for use by guests. The flooring
throughout the accommodation is waterproof laminate, with shoe racks and
hanging facilities and washer/drier for damp clothes.
We do try and
cater for all your needs and have as many options available to you as
you require. There is an abundance of high quality local books for rainy
days and tired nights, maps and illustrations, island walkway books and
information books on places to see and things to do.
