Our comfortable
self-catering timber lodges nestle in a lovely, peaceful location in
Glen Spean, surrounded by woodland and with views to Aonach Mor.
The village of Roy
Bridge with a shop, post office and pubs serving good food is within 10
minutes walking distance.
It's only a 5 minute walk to the railway station where you can catch the
Mallaig-Fort William-Glasgow train on the famous West Highland Line.
This takes you into the marvelous walking country around Loch Ossian and
Rannoch Moor or you can go the other way to the fishing village of
Mallaig on the West Coast and catch a ferry to Skye.
There are many beautiful low level walks in the area around Roy Bridge,
including the Parallel Roads. There are also several Munros, including
Ben Nevis of course, within easy reach of Bunroy and it's only an hour's
drive to the Cairngorms, where you'll find Ben Macdui and Braeriach, the
second and third highest Munros. The spectacular scenery of Glencoe is
less than an hour's drive in the other direction and from Oban, 60 miles
to the south, you can catch a ferry to the Islands of Mull and Iona.
Fort William, the Outdoor Capital, with a good range of shops and
restaurants is only 12 miles away and the Nevis Range, where the Gondola
takes you over 2000 feet up Aonach Mor to enjoy the stunning views,
walking trails in summer and excellent skiing facilities in winter, is
even nearer.
Each of our lodges
is fully equipped with cooker, fridge, microwave and TV and DVD player.
We have one and two bedroom lodges available with a combination of
double and twin rooms and all have fully fitted shower rooms or
bathrooms. Each lodge also has its own drying room (we can't promise it
won't rain while you are here!) for your wet gear and boots and there is
a laundry room and tourist information room with payphone and books and
games to borrow.
All of our lodges are no smoking and we welcome well behaved dogs in
some of them. They provide the ideal base for an active holiday or for a
relaxing break in the most beautiful and restful of surroundings |
