Built in
2001,Tangusdale Cottage lies in a peaceful position one mile south west
of Invergarry village overlooking river Garry , with scenic views of the
surrounding hills
It is an ideal base for
touring the West Highlands with easy access to Fort William and Ben
Nevis (24 Miles) Inverness (42 Miles) Loch Ness (8 Miles) and the Isle
of Skye (48 miles) where you can visit the famous Talisker distillery
and Eilean Donan castle en route.
From the end of May
onwards the steam train runs from Fort William to Mallaig.You will also
get a clear view of the Glenfinnan Monument where Prince Charlie’s
standard was raised in 1745.The scenery on this trip is spectacular.
In Glengarry there are
plenty of lovely walks through forest and hill and for anybody
interested in wildlife there are many different species to be seen.Loch
fishing is also available.
Seven miles away lies
the attractive village of Fort Augustus where you can watch boats
sailing through the Caledonian Canal. Trips are availabe on Loch Ness. The
Abbey is in the process of being restored and part of it is open to the
public. The village offers a number of good food restaurants, shops and
a nine hole golf course.
At Nevis Range near
Fort William we have the Aonach Mor Ski Centre where you can have an
enjoyable journey in one of the eighty cable cars and see spectacular
views of the Highlands and Islands

Lochness-side Chalet is
situated on Lochness-side in the Great Glen and at the lower end of
Glenurquhart. The chalet commands magnificent views over Urquhart bay
which is the legendary home of the Lochness Monster,
and from the window
one may enjoy watching the numerous boats and wild life on the loch.
It is situated
about 400 yds. from Urquhart Castle and halfway between Fort Augustus
and Inverness.
The Chalet has a TV, DVD player, fridge, microwave, washing machine and
a fixed electric heater in each room. Electric storage heating is
supplied free of charge and extra electricity such as cooking and shower
is supplied through a £1 coin meter. All bed linen is provided free of
charge. The
maximum number of guests must not exceed four and sadly we are unable to
accept pets.
Drumnadrochit is now
a dormitory village for Inverness and enjoys the peace and quiet of a
rural village while still being within 20 minutes drive from Inverness.
The village has a small food market, several restaurants, two garages
and filling stations, hotels and shops. There is also a post office and
a bank.
Pony trekking is available close by and there is trout fishing available
on Lochness., and there is ample opportunity for hill walking and so an
ideal base for walkers. We
are within one mile of the Great Glen Way
Drumnadrochit is within day trip distance from the Isle of Skye and
other beauty spots on the west and east coasts of Scotland.

lovely comfortable holiday home for up to six people, and well behaved
dogs are welcome. This semi-detached traditional cottage dating back to
1800s is situated in a rural woodland location only 4 miles from the
seaside town of Nairn, and 16 miles from the Highland Capital
Inverness.
The Cottage has a
Troutmaster fishery (Geddes) 10 mins walk away, there is championship
golf available in Nairn and Castle Stuart is a short drive down the
road. The magnificent Highlands provide some of the best walking in the
UK and are just a 30 minute drive from the cottage and the Scottish west
coast is only an hour by car.
Please note that
the cottage has low combed ceilings in the first floor rooms.

Our comfortable
self-catering timber lodges nestle in a lovely, peaceful location in
Glen Spean, surrounded by woodland and with views to Aonach Mor.
The village of Roy
Bridge with a shop, post office and pubs serving good food is within 10
minutes walking distance.
It's only a 5 minute walk to the railway station where you can catch the
Mallaig-Fort William-Glasgow train on the famous West Highland Line.
This takes you into the marvelous walking country around Loch Ossian and
Rannoch Moor or you can go the other way to the fishing village of
Mallaig on the West Coast and catch a ferry to Skye.
There are many beautiful low level walks in the area around Roy Bridge,
including the Parallel Roads. There are also several Munros, including
Ben Nevis of course, within easy reach of Bunroy and it's only an hour's
drive to the Cairngorms, where you'll find Ben Macdui and Braeriach, the
second and third highest Munros. The spectacular scenery of Glencoe is
less than an hour's drive in the other direction and from Oban, 60 miles
to the south, you can catch a ferry to the Islands of Mull and Iona.
Fort William, the Outdoor Capital, with a good range of shops and
restaurants is only 12 miles away and the Nevis Range, where the Gondola
takes you over 2000 feet up Aonach Mor to enjoy the stunning views,
walking trails in summer and excellent skiing facilities in winter, is
even nearer.
Each of our lodges
is fully equipped with cooker, fridge, microwave and TV and DVD player.
We have one and two bedroom lodges available with a combination of
double and twin rooms and all have fully fitted shower rooms or
bathrooms. Each lodge also has its own drying room (we can't promise it
won't rain while you are here!) for your wet gear and boots and there is
a laundry room and tourist information room with payphone and books and
games to borrow.
All of our lodges are no smoking and we welcome well behaved dogs in
some of them. They provide the ideal base for an active holiday or for a
relaxing break in the most beautiful and restful of surroundings |
