The hotel is situated
on the fringe of Gorey, a charming little port on the islands tranquil
south east coast, four miles from the island capital of St. Helier.
Set in its own grounds
away from the main road, the hotel is directly opposite the 4 mile sandy
beach of The Royal Bay of Grouville. On leaving the hotel grounds, you
cross the main road and you are on the beach! This is a perfect beach
for swimming with various water sports being available. Gorey Village
(which has restaurants, shops and the Jersey Pottery) lies directly
behind the hotel. The Royal Jersey Golf Club is just a few minutes walk
away.
Just a ten minute walk
away, along the sea front promenade, is the old port of Gorey which lies
beneath the towering ramparts of Mont Orgueil Castle. The port of Gorey
with its various bars, restaurants and shops is a popular yachting
harbour and ferry terminal for boats to the nearby French ports of
Carteret and Port Bail which are only a few miles away. With Jersey
being only 9 miles x 5 miles everything Jersey has to offer is literally
‘on the doorstep’.
